Pioneer Village

My school's service learning group is helping out pioneer village. Pioneer village is a recreation of an old english settlement. It was a fun, local attraction, but it has recently fallen into disrepair. We're trying to get it back on its feet. Are there any local places that you're trying to help out? Have you ever been to a place like pioneer village?

At our school we try to

At our school we try to raise money to help local places. Usually we give the money to homeless shelters, but sometimes we give it to local non-profit organizations.

Thats cool. I'm trying to help local oranizations, but I dont really know what to do.

Ya, its alot like plimoth plantation, but much smaller I think

What are you doing to help?

What are some things that you've done so far to help them?

We recently started a TV

We recently started a TV show on local access to raise awareness about pioneer village. Hopefully we'll get more support so we can get it up and running.

To ppatel

Thanks! I'll look into that. We're in salem, so about a hour away from Boston by car, and about half an hour by train.

There should be an establish

There should be an establish historical commission and maybe even a historical society in Salem. Here is a piece of info, go down to your City Hall and ask if there is a [Salem] Historical Commission.

plimoth plantation

It sounds kinda like plimoth plantation. Is it similar?

Local Organizations

There are local organizations the help in historical reenactments and recreation of old buildings. So depending on where you are there might be a local group that can help with that. Also I don't much but there is a Massachusetts Historical Commission, they might have further information.

I personally haven't been to a pioneer village but I have heard of them. It is a great idea. But I have a question; how far away from Boston are you?

really soulful

I really like what I am reading. It is really educational, which in turn touches my soul. Pioneer Village looks really enjoyable, I am hope to see it's some time.

Good Work, young one!

Ooh, a village of pioneers, now thats an interesting concept! I used to have a village of my own when I was a young man. Keep up the good work, and keep me informed of all of your village work. Good day to you sir!

Great Project

What things are you doing to help Pioneer Village to get it back on its feet?

This is a great oppurtunity for your school! I bet it is fun and a great experience.

halloween?

I went to pioneer village once for halloween. It was pretty cool. There were all these people dressed in costume and stuff.

Pioneer Village

I haven't had a chance to go to Pioneer Village. I'm new to the area. It would be a shame to let it fall apart. It's important to know where we came from to better know where we need to go.

sounds like a nice place

I've never been to Pioneer village, but it sounds cool. I always try to get my school to help out local organizations, but not many people seem interested. We do raise alot of money for charities though.

I havn't been to pioneer

I havn't been to pioneer village, but I've been to a few places like it. It looks like a really peaceful place to go to. Its always sad to see local attractions go out of buisness, I'm glad that there are people helping them.

I think I went there on a

I think I went there on a field trip once, but it was to long ago to remember. Do the people that work there teach you about their jobs? When do you guys plan to have it up and running again? Maybe I'll go there once its set up. :)

after school program

My school has an after school program that gives teens a chance to give back to the community. We help out at local non profit organizations and raise money for places in our town that give youth activities to do.

I dont think enough people

I dont think enough people step up to keep places like that going. Its good to see some people helping. Why did pioneer village shut down in the first place? Who funds them?

sounds fun

That place sounds fun. I looked up a little info about it online and learned that it was created in 1930 as the set for a play, but they liked it so much after, they never took it down.

I went to pioneer village a

I went to pioneer village a few times with school, but i've never been there on my own.
