Civics on the Hill a Success!

The Civics on the Hill event yesterday at the State House was a great success! A diverse group of over 200 students from communities throughout the Commonwealth came together for this exciting event. Stay tuned for event pictures and follow-up thoughts from SCI and the students who attended.
A few reminders for attendees:
- Your legislator & you: Hopefully you had a chance to meet 1 or more of your state legislators yesterday. Click on "post blog entry" and let us know which legislator you met, and why they think it's important for youth to be civically engaged--post by Friday, 5/25 for a chance to win $50 gift card.
- Blog Post for $100: Share your thoughts on Civics on the Hill or an issue you care about, and get the most comments by May 31, to win a $100 gift card.
- Event photos: Many people have said the site could use more pictures. That's true, but we need your help! Post a couple of the pictures you took yesterday to the site. We'd especially like to see some good photos of youth & their legislators! You can insert a picture any time you are doing a blog post.
There was great energy at the State House yesterday; please use this site as a way to build on that enthusiasm for making a difference. Any time you have ideas or questions on the site, email massyouth@massyouth.org or call 781.935.5820.
We'd like to hear your thoughts about the event too. What did you like about it? What suggestions do you have for the next time we do a Civics on the Hill event? Post your ideas as a comment to hear or start your own blog post.
