Essay Contest
The 9th Annual Online Student Essay Contest sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts Citizen Education Fund has begun.
The theme this year is Making Democracy Work: Vote 2008. As we enter a critical election year, we hope that young people, teachers and youth leaders will discuss the importance of citizen participation in the electoral process and how the results of this election will affect their lives.
This contest is open to all Massachusetts students in grades 4-12. This year we are including a question for 18-24 year olds. In recognition of the dedication of teachers in encouraging their students to participate, we award a classroom educational grant to the teachers or advisors of the winners.
