Boston Latin School's Club BLS Youth Climate Action Network (Youth Can) is a new club this year that has taken off at a very fast rate. The club is divided into seven different committees ranging from activism in the community to reclying in our own school. The club consists of around 130 middle and high school kids who are eager to make a difference in the environment. The club is really fun, and helps kids learn about the climate rpoblems of today and what we can do to fix them. We have weekly meetings, guest speakers, and currently are selling lightbulbs donated by Nstar that are more energy efficient. To help other kids in the area get involved we are planning a youth summit on May 19th at MIT for middle and high school students from around the greater boston area. Our goal, thorugh this event, is to make a climate action network of kids from different schools in the area. The event is a jammed packed day full of information, hands-on activites, prizes, raffles and helping to change our world (and free food!). To learn more see the events page or check out our website. Please come if you are interested about changing the world you live in and tell your freinds!
